The 2019 Ford F-150 Gives you the Power to Choose Your Power

When you decide on a pickup truck to help you get your work done, one of the most important things to think about is which engine is best for your application. Whether you’re frequently towing heavy loads or hauling cargo in the bed makes a big difference as to which engine is right for you. Fortunately, the Ford F-150 models at Baytown Ford are available with six different engine options so you can always find the right tool for the job.

Torque for Towing

When you need the best pulling power imaginable, you want to emphasize torque over outright horsepower. With the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine available on the 2019 Ford F-150, you’ll get a best-in-class 470 pound-feet of torque to go along with 375 horsepower. When properly equipped, F-150 models with this engine can tow up to 13,500 pounds, and the twin-turbo setup helps you keep fuel economy in check.

Fans of diesel engines already know how good the PowerStroke® engine lineup is for towing, and the 3.0-liter Turbo Diesel inside the new F-150 offers 440 pound-feet of torque to help you get things moving. That torque peaks at just 1,750 rpm, so you’ll get use out of it where you really need it the most. Overall you’ll enjoy up to 11,500 pounds of towing capacity with a properly equipped F-150, and nearly 2,000 pounds of payload capacity to boot.

Balanced Performance

Opt for the smaller 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine when your lifestyle allows you to give up a bit of towing capacity in lieu of fuel economy. Don’t let the displacement fool you; this engine is still a powerhouse at 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

For the raw power needed to enjoy some high-speed off-roading, the Ford F-150 Raptor makes use of a High-Output 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. Higher boost pressure delivers more power, bringing total output to 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.

Power for Payload

If you haul more cargo in the bed than on a trailer, opt for a 3.3-liter V6 engine for your new Ford pickup. At 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, you’ll still have plenty of grunt to get you going, but with more flexibility for hauling and cruising.

The top naturally-aspirated F-150 engine is the legendary 5.0-liter V8. This engine generates 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and gives you the power you need to haul even the heaviest cargo.
